Hi friends! Thanks for tuning in and following along as I put pen to paper to share more of myself with the world.
My name is Zion. I’m Brooklyn-based, but Florida-raised and I am forever contemplating what it means to exist in the world as a Black, queer, transmasculine individual. I have many thoughts and a lot of big feelings about being a post-evangelical individual attempting to make sense of my previous life. I have so many more questions than answers these days, but perhaps that’s why I was drawn to creating this platform.
The hope for this space is not to trauma dump, as that is what my therapist is for, but to put language and color to the complexity that it is to be embedded in toxic systems and institutions while still managing to salvage worthwhile moments and memories from within the fire.
If this blog does nothing else, may it serve as a reminder that we are bound together by both our beauty and our suffering. In other words, “You are not alone.”
